WWF-USA and Fundación Vida Silvestre Argentina, with input from industry expert Victor Tonelli, published a new report exploring what it would take for Argentina to make the transition to DCF beef exports. This business case examines how Argentina can lead the market in mainstreaming beef free from deforestation using traceability, a fundamental tool to respond to the growing demands of consumers regarding food safety and quality, adding value to commercialized products that minimize social and environmental impacts. If the transition to DCF beef is achievable these systems could provide a roadmap for other commodities to follow suit and help industry and governments meet their deforestation commitments as well as progress toward their Scope 3 carbon reduction targets by reducing land use change.
