The international community is on the race to achieve net zero targets to combat climate change. In this scenario, Net Sink Credit has far-reaching implications as the concept is purely based on climate equity. Globally more than 50% of the people are depending on agriculture for their life and livelihood. Thus the role of farming community in mitigating climate change are beyond limits. However, there is total negligence in considering the agrarian sector where every conservation steps has a negative impact on this sector. Thus the Net Sink Credit is an entirely new initiative with individual responsibility for climate change mitigation initiatives. Here in Net Sink Credit, the unaccounted carbon sinks grown and maintained by the farmers are accounted and remunerating as per the contribution in sequestering carbon. Thus with all respect I am requesting the COP26 Secretariat to open discussions on Net Sink Credit for effective and participatory climate mitigation initiatives.
